On Saturday, September 6, I was honoured to be one of 12 women awarded a Daughter of the Year Award from the Daughters Day initiative. Daughters Day is in its third year and exists to celebrate the lives and achievements of women while working towards an equitable society.
In addition to receiving the award, I also performed the Daughters Day theme some I wrote when I was part of the steering committee that planned the first Daughters Day celebration three years ago.
I also filled in on guitar at the last minute with the Inner Voice inner city choir.
